Dance is the fountain of movement passion that overflows into all the classes at the Studio. Natasha combines her training, performance, choreographic and 28 years of teaching experience to create classes that will the have the dancer – whether stepping into a dance class for the first time or having trained for years – wanting more. Technique, artistry and musicality are presented in a nurturing class environment that presents possibility and many smiles.
Adult Beginner Ballet Wednesday, 6:15-7:20pm
Step into the world of Ballet! This class is the ideal for the newbie to dance – or the dancer who is returning to class. Fundamental technique and steps are presented in a nurturing, small class environment. Note. Intermediate Ballet Students are welcome to wear pointe shoes for this class.
Adult Intermediate Ballet Monday, 7:30-8:45pm
This class is grounded in the Russian syllabus. It offers basic intermediate technique at the barre, along with a moving center. Basic ballet patterns are explored as well as turns, small and big jumps. The dancer will be encouraged to explore artistry and musicality.
8:50-9:10pm Pointe class.
The Hour Long Intermediate Ballet Barre Saturday, 2-3pm
This unique class draws on American and Cuban Ballet syllabi, encouraging the development of clean technique, flexibility, artistry and musicality. It is the ideal class for the dancer returning to class, the older dancer who loves barre and the dancer who wishes to extend their movement vocabulary.
Dancers can choose to leave or stay for the center work.
3:05-3:50pm Traditonal 45 minute center work including Adage, Waltz, Saute, Petite Allegro, Gran Allegro, Turns and Batterie.
3:50-4:05/10 Pointe class.
Adult Dance the Spine Tuesday, 7:15-8:15pm
Swing into the World of Contemporary dance! With the Limon Technique as a base, Natasha weaves together a class combining a floor and standing warm up, with evolving movement sequences. Influenced by her studies with teachers from Julliard/Jacob’s Pillow and her own choreographic dancing adventures, Natasha creates movement that opens dancing possibilities to both the beginning and experienced dancer.
